About Matthew Gee

Mr Gee is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the management of problems related to the pelvis, hip and knee. He studied medicine at King's College London, before completing his surgical training across the South-East of England. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2011 and achieved a Masters in Orthopaedics in 2013.

He has undergone extensive Fellowship training in lower limb arthroplasty and trauma and spent twelve months at Flinders Medical Centre and the Repatriation Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia. On his return he spent 6 months at The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, one of the busiest Major Trauma Units in the country where he specialised in Pelvic and Acetabular Reconstruction.

He offers expertise in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, knee arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction, and pelvic and acetabular trauma surgery. He is one of a handful of surgeons in London accredited to perform Robot Arm assisted total hip replacements and total and partial knee replacements using the MAKO robot. He is also trained to perform minimally invasive hip replacements using the SuperPath technique.

Mr Gee was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at King’s College Hospital in April 2015 and is the clinical lead for providing Orthopaedic services to Bexley CCG.

Mr Gee was raised in Cornwall and lives in South East London with his wife and young family. He was educated at Truro School, Cornwall.
